Laughing Matters: The State of a Nation is a permanent display in the V&A. The satirical exhibition explores humour over the past 200 years, to see what this can tell us about ‘Britishness’ today.

Working closely with the V&A Design Studio and Aberrant Architecture we developed the look and feel for the 2D elements of the exhibition. A simple, typographic treatment introduced personality and play to text panels – movement created states of ‘hilarity’ to dial humour up and down within the messaging.
